What are Administrator or Power User rights?
 |
 |
Each User on a Windows computer is categorized as having certain rights and
permissions for working with Windows.
Those rights are defined at the time the account is created,
but may be changed in the User Accounts section of the Control Panel.
An account is typically identified by a person's name (Jim) or function (Accounting)
or a generic name given by the computer manufacturer (Extreme Computer Preferred Customer).

For security reasons, Windows allows some users to perform certain actions, but prevents other users.
When you first connect your BACKUPKEY to your computer,
the software needs to make some entries into the Windows Registry to tell Windows
how to manage certain functions.
"Limited Users" do not have the right to make those changes, so
BACKUPKEY cannot run.
Fortunately, if you are logged in as a Limited User, you can have an Administrator
either run BACKUPKEY on her account or upgrade your account temporarily
while you run it for the first time.
After either of those, you will be able to run BACKUPKEY as a Limited User.
