Multi-Computer Data Backup

Estimate how much data is on your computer
How to estimate the amount of data on your computer depends upon the version of Windows you are using.

Windows Vista:
Open "Computer" from the Start menu, then find "Users" on your C: drive. Right-click "Users" and select "Properties." Use the SIZE shown as an estimate for the amount of data stored on your computer.

Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 Server:
Open "My Computer" from the Start menu, then find "Documents and Settings" on your C: drive. Right-click "Documents and Settings" and select "Properties." Use the SIZE shown as an estimate for the amount of data stored on your computer.

Servers and Power Users:
Some users establish additional data storage locations on their computers. This is especially true for servers. If you store data in other locations than those mentioned above, you should determine the size of all custom storage locations (those that you create) and add them to the number found above.
