3-User BackupKey Software

The full version of BackupKey allows you to use the entire capacity of your existing backup drive - the software does not limit the size of your backups. (The trial version backs up 100MB of data, from 1 or 2 users.)

Plan ahead. Buy the version for the number of users you will need to protect in the future.
If you plan to transfer data to or from an additional computer, you will need an "available" user (the extra user can be re-used for other computers). For example, to move your Windows XP data to a new Vista computer, you will need at least the 2-user version. Another example: to back up 3 users on a single computer requires a 3-user version.

Download the trial version and upgrade from the "How to Upgrade" page in the software.

2) The upgrade process encrypts a description of your backup drive's hardware and sends it to our server along with your email address.
These items will ONLY be used to send you the upgrade. None of your data and no information about the rest of your computer is collected or sent anywhere. The email entered in the shopping cart must match the one entered in the "How to Upgrade" page in the trial software.

3) BackupKey software is drive-dependent.
You must run the trial version on the drive you plan to use for your backups. If you later format that drive or the drive is destroyed, the upgraded software will no longer run and cannot be installed on a different drive. This explains the unusually low price of the upgrade. In fact, you can buy 2 copies of BackupKey for the the price of a single copy of most single-computer backup software.
